A Sad Loss

I have no picture to go with this post... even though this is a sad event I wanted to include it in the story of our family. I was hoping to soon be able to announce that we were expecting and I really felt it was a girl. I had experienced a lot of nausea over the past few months which was missing from my previous pregnancies. Unfortunately we lost the baby on Monday at 10 1/2 weeks. Thankfully Ben was there with me. It was so hard to look at the screen and see no beating heart... We had witnessed "her" heartbeat at both 7 and 9 weeks. Tuesday morning Ben took me to the hospital for the D and C. I was scared but thankful in the end because it stopped the physical pain. I had picked out the name Hope Marie in honor of my mother and Mother in law 's middle names. And so I am waiting for the day when I meet Hope and my two other precious ones that I never got to meet here on earth. Ben bought and planted a beautiful flowering bush that has delicate periwinkle flowers in her honor. Even though I cannot understand why loss is such a part of our lives.... I hope in the Lord and know He cries with us and will one redeem our hurts. I also hold tightly and cherish the two wonderful boys I have been blessed with now.

Gavin's Super 4th Birthday Bash!

We celebrated Gavin's birthday with a Superhero breakfast. His friends and cousins came in their favorite Superhero costumes and had a great time. They were even able to defeat the "evil" villain who tried to ruin the fun with a bag of "bombs". We feasted on yummy doughnut holes and kolaches two of Gavin's favorite foods. Gavin's big gift was a new bike which he loves. I was so grateful to have the help of our cousins Brian and Jenn and Uncle David and Aunt Rosie. It was a great day!
