First Day of School - Fall 2013

Grant is nine and starting third grade at Pebble Creek Elementary. Gavin is five and attending private four day kindergarten at SFLP.

July 4th we decided to walk and ride bikes in The Pebble Creek parade. It was really hot but the kids had fun. We were able to tag along with Ben to a meeting in Arlington and were given tickets to a Rangers game. We finished off the month with Grant's birthday party at Grand Station. How can he be 9 already?

Summer Trip to Ohio

We decided to drive home. It took two days and we stopped in Louisville KY at The Louisville Slugger Museum. Grant ordered a bat with his name on it. We arrived in New Phila in the evening of the second day! The boys ran around the property and took a swim. I had to take a picture of one of the tall pines. I feel all the trees in Texas look miniature to me compared with the tall trees I grew up seeing every day in Ohio. I actually forgot to take a lot of pictures but I did take some of Amish and wild strawberries we picked. (The boys helped grandma make a pie). The boys had fun dressing up in Grandpa's Army uniforms.

Gavin's 5th Birthday

We had a fun filled pool party for Gavin's 5th birthday! Uncle David came as did Brian, Jenn and the kid's. Everyone had a great time swimming and laughing together! Turning five gave Gavin the courage to try riding his bike with no training wheels. Other than the occasional scraped knee he did great!

Dress Up, a Play, an Award and Preschool Graduation

May was a busy month! Grant dressed up as Napoleon for a part in the second grade play. Gavin dressed up as a cowboy for Cowboy Day. Grant won the VIP award at school and Gavin graduated from the 4's class of preschool. I also had to include these sweet pictures of Gavin sleeping on Papa's shoulder.

BlueBonnets and a Rose Garden

We took our annual bluebonnet pictures on the grounds of the George Bush Library this year. We had taken about 3 family photos when we decided to take some of the boys. I chose a spot and forgot to check for ants...poor Grant sat on top of a big mound. Thankfully we got his clothing off quickly and he only had 3 bites on his foot. What a way to start but we took about 10 minutes checking and rechecking his clothes and he bravely went on. I am so thankful because these turned out great! We also took some in the small garden located behind the museum.
